SCHOOL CALENDAR: Recital dates and school closing dates can be found on our website.
TUITION:Your tuition reserves your weekly lesson time with your teacher. Therefore, tuition is neither reduced nor refunded for any reason. Students are charged for 4 lessons on the 1st of every month via recurring payments. Every student pays for and is scheduled for 48 lessons per year. Although tuition is paid monthly, in 4-lesson installments, it is not calculated by the number of lessons in the month. Some months have 5 lessons and others as few as 3. Holiday closures have been calculated into the monthly tuition, so no CMLs are offered for holiday closures. Tuition does not include any retail teaching materials such as books or instruments. Special Promotions tuition are paid in full and not refunded for any reason.
IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: You are financially responsible for your lesson regardless of attendance. We do not issue refunds or credits for missed lessons. We do not ‘pause’ payments or lessons for any length of time.
LATE PAYMENT: In the event your credit or debit card auto-payment fails, we will attempt to contact you and attempt to charge the card on file for 3 days beginning on the 1st of the month. After 3 days, we will add a $10 late fee to that month’s tuition.
WITHDRAWALS: To discontinue lessons and charges to your account, 30 days' written notice is required. Recurring tuition will stop 30 days from the date your completed withdrawal form is received by the office. Students will be responsible for their last month's lessons whether they attend lessons.
OPEN DOOR POLICY: Parents are always allowed to sit in on lessons.
TEACHER SUBSTITUTIONS: The school reserves the right to replace or substitute teachers without notice if the regular teacher is unable to attend lessons. If a replacement teacher cannot be scheduled, missed lessons will be made up.
CANCELLATIONS: For any lessons missed by a teacher, the studio will attempt to provide a substitute teacher. If a substitute teacher is unavailable, a private make-up lesson with a teacher will be scheduled. In the event of school closing due to severe weather, we will reschedule private lessons during a holiday break. For cancellations by student, refer to "WHAT IF I CAN'T GET TO MY LESSON?" to see options for missed lessons.
WHAT IF I CAN'T GET TO MY LESSON? You have options!
SWITCH TO AN ONLINE LESSON: Notify the office before 6 p.m. to request a Zoom link and take your lesson from home.
PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION VIDEO: Request a personalized instruction video if you can't make it to your lesson and watch it when it's convenient for you. Students who do not show up for a lesson, who notify the office after 5 p.m. the day before their lesson, or who get sick the day of their lesson, will receive a short, personalized instruction video via email.
COURTESY MAKE-UP LESSON (CML): Notify the office (NOT your teacher) before 5 p.m. the day before your lesson to request a CML. You have 30 days to make up your missed lesson (CMLs expire after 30 days). Make-up lessons will not be with your regular teacher. Once scheduled, a make-up lesson cannot be rescheduled.
CARE OF STUDENTS: The school is not responsible for providing before or after care for students. Parents with children under the age of eight must remain in the school lobby during the classes. Students are not to be left at the school before or after their lessons. Children must wait for their parents to pick them up inside the studio. Please do not ask them to meet you elsewhere. Students are not to be dropped off on the street or curb. The studio assumes no responsibility for children who leave unaccompanied.
INJURIES: Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal lesson activity or any other activity conducted by the students or their siblings before, during, or after lesson time.
IMAGE AND AUDIO/VIDEO RECORDING: At the School we host multiple recitals, music parties and photo shoots that are very popular with our parents. A photographer visits the event and takes pictures of the students. Parents get free digital copies. Our monthly newsletter often features a student of the month and we occasionally videotape performances. These may be used on our website and on social media.
